-Prologue-

Post by Grevendar Togl »

A square room, grey walls, this is what Leonid Luthor, Initiate of the Krath Dynasty sees as he regains consciousness. He is on the floor of a 2 by 2 metre prison cell, with no windows and a single door facing him. The door is of a metal alloy,is painted brown and currently closed, sealing the cell off from the rest of the prison.

Standing slowly, Leonid realises that he is wearing nothing but a jumpsuit, all his equipment and armour having disappeared. Resolve growing, Leonid decides to escape the prison, find his equipment, find out how he got here and return to his unit.

Perhaps now that his head is feeling better, Leonid will find some object or method to escape his confinement....

(OOC: This is the prologue, its objective is to provide context which you can use to make your post and progress the story. A GM never forces a certain storyline, he plans a progression of events and lets the participants do what they like within the confines of the game and logic. Right now, you need to escape, but no way appears apparent, what will you do?

Varro, Kalzel and Cuyan will enter the story as you get out of your cell and explore the prison)

Leonid Luthor staged to his feet using the far wall as a support. Clearly he wasn't thinking straight because his hand slipped on the cold damp wall sending him face down onto the floor. His eyes flickered open again a few moments later, the fall had seemed to have caused him to black out. With great effort Leonid made it to his feet, he felt he was around the room discovering it to be on 2x2 meters in size.

Escape! He had to escape! There was no way he was going to go down without a fight. But how he thought to himself, he didn't even know what lay out side the door. Finding it to difficult to remain standing he slumped onto the floor his body felling like it had been shoved into a vice.

A thousand crazy idea rushed though his head everyone more insane then the last, but alas sleep soon over took his weary body and he return to the land of darkness.

(OOC: Ok, good post, good description. What you need to include is some kind of action for the gm to handle. For instance: "Looking around the sparse cell, Leonid searches for something, anything, that could be of use in escaping and regaining his freedom". This action instructs me as the GM to describe more fully the contents of the cell, perhaps talking about things you might not normally notice when casually looking around. I will now give you the response as if you asked me the question)

Leonid clearly had taken a hit or two in the recent past, but slowly the room stopped spinning around and his view cleared. Looking and feeling his way around the cell, he found a loose stone from the wall, about 10cm by 5cm in size. The cell was lit from a single light fixture high above his head in the ceiling, emitting a yellowish light, with no way to reach it. Beside him lay only his trusty belt, apparently thrown in after him. A small metal panel was embedded into the wall to the right of the door, some kind of cover for a control mechanism perhaps....

As he felt his way around the room, his ears picked up the sound of footsteps, probably on the other side of the cell door.

(OOC: From this point, you are a little closer but still not able to escape. Try out a couple of actions and explore your options :)

p.s. Cuyan is up for this as well, so we'll have 4 participants in this scenario)

Varro coughs under a dimly lit light of his own, the rough sounds now vibrating off the walls.

Leonid sat facing the far wall looking over the small collection of thing he had discovered. He considered the possibilities, if the metal plate next to the door covered the control and he could remove it some how he might be able to get the door open from the inside. Taking the stone, he wrapped the belt around it so as to protect his hand as much as possible. Staggered over to the panel, he began to hit it as hard as he could with the rock hoping the guard(s) wouldn't hear.

(Very nice...you indicate your attempt and describe your action well)

Leonid hit the control panel again and again with the rock, denting it slightly each time. With enough effort, the panel would be deformed enough for him to get a grip on the edges and rip the cover off. His noise however reverberated off the stone walls and the metal door, strong enough to produce a faint echo in the corridor.

Outside the door, the guard became suspicious. This was a terrible place to turn into a makeshift prison, it was meant to be a barracks after all, thats why the door controls were on both inside and outside, making fitting a panel the only option to prevent mass breakouts. The banging may simply be a derange prisoner, he thought. It wouldn't be unheard of after all. Eventually he decided he would have to investigate further, drawing his CS-12 stun master and pressing the switch that opened the door to cell CX110.

Inside the cell, Leonid froze as the door opened. belt covered rock in hand, he wasn't going to be able to explain away his actions.....

(Varro, Cuyan and Kalzel, you are now able to start rp'ing. Below is the map of the city everyone is located in:

http://www.swcombine.com/citydesigner/? ... ,19,h;|1|v

The city is a real one on the planet Travnin.

Varro, you start onboard the KMS Death Stroke. You are coming to inspect the defence arrangements that the KED are building on planet officially, but you might have ulterior motives to your supposed mission.

Cuyan, you start in the tavern, your call on the why and how :D

Kalzel, you are attempting to persuade the planetary governor to sell you something - facilities, etc..)

For reference Leonid, you are in one of the barracks at the moment.)

His face lit gently from the soft lights on the control panel, Varro lazed in the command chair and skimmed through the details on recent construction options brought by the Krath Economic Division. All seemed to have gone well, except for lack of particulars on the turbolaser defenses of the Ivatch Outpost. While most details were clear cut and entered in a system on a timely manner, the defenses had contained neither feature.

”Coincidence? What are coincidences?” Varro rhetorically asked himself.

At this time, his flagship, the MC-80b KMS Death Stroke was entering what was the Travnin’s orbit. The ship hummed, but the sound was not noticeable to Varro being who was callous to the expected noises during flight. Sighing and rising up out of his seat, Varro firmly pressed a button and removed his access card to shut down his terminal. Varro caught sight of the head technician who was eyeing Varro the moment he rose from his seat.

“Have my personal squad prepared and loaded on my ATR dropship. I shouldn’t be long,” Varro stated with confidence, not mistaken for what most would believe arrogance to be.

The head technician arose from his seat with a datapad, and walked a short distance to Varro, who now was making his way out from the bridge. Sending in the order for one squad of Varro’s guards to report to the docking bay and ordering the bay technicians to prepare an ATR with a x-wing escort, the head technician besought Varro’s attention for another moment.

“Shall I inform the outpost of your arrival?” asked the head technician calmly.

Without faltering in his step and increasing his pace, Varro pulled the hood on his cloak over and down as he spoke.

“No, and if the they are aware of my presence before I touch the ground then say I am personally transferring a prisoner to another prison of higher grade that is located at Shesharile.”

As he continued out the blast door, already opened by a technician entering the bridge, Varro could only make out what was a “Understood, Commander” from the Krath technician.

*Fwaaack!*

Another empty mug slammed down on the counter, free of the local brew that filled it just moments ago. Dim lights lit up the scene of a run down tavern, bustling with the nasty sort of aliens most would avoid. Behind the mug, a gargantuan Zabrak lay suited up in a heavy-duty durasteel armor. The armor beheld a scorch mark here and there with the occasional scuff mark as well. Aside from that, it was well polished and adorned in Mandalorian symbols. His helmet sit next to him on the counter adjacent to the empty mug. A warm glow emitted from the different electrical systems held in the armor and helmet.

A low almost grumble sounded from the Zabrak as he shifted for his datapad. He flips it on, revealing the familiar glow of his handy mission log. On the datapad was the image of a strange looking alien, surrounded by lines of Basic characters. Above the alien's head, it read "Operation Objective" in neon lettering. Cuyan flipped through, reading the debriefing. He furrowed his brow and checked the local time on his datapad. He then looked around the tavern scene once more, carefully studying the different faces.

He then fastened his helmet back on his head, activating the different rotors and the voice modulator. A low, distorted voice emitted from the helmet as he gave one more pass over across the different faces in the tavern.

"They're late..."
