Re: Exocron Ceremony

Post by Ganner Groundrunner »

Ganner was swirling his drink absentmindedly and watching the proceedings. He noticed a few people fidget a bit when Master Onasha made her entrance, and even Armitage needed to exit. He wasnt all that surprised. He knew Armitage for a few years now, and he was always a bit eccentric. A good guys, but a bit weird at times. Better to be on our side, that's for sure. He thought to himself as he sipped at his drink. Realizing he was finished with this one, he nodded to the bartender for another.

En had now introduced Daz Raal as his second in command and Daz made his way to the stage. out of the corner of his eye he noticed Correl seemed a bit more on edge than normal. Not many may have noticed, but spending so much time with Correl working on Anoat plans and various other projects, he had come to notice some of his idiosyncrasies. He too was a good guy, a hard worker, and seemingly loyal follower of Krath. Correl always seemed to have stuff on his mind. The longing for answers type of stuff too. He seemed to cope well even though there always seemed to be a storm just beneath the surface of his consciousness. Ganner chuckled to himself as he thought that. With all the Jedi and force sensitive people in the room right now, he was sure he wasn't the only one to notice or 'sense' this sort of thing. Ganner's drink was brought to him and he went back to swirling it absentmindedly.

His mind and focus came back to the podium and stage area. He saw Uthar playing with his medal again. Ganner grinned. He had never met a more humble Barabel that former Fleet Marshal Ridian. A fierce warrior, loyal member of Krath and its military, and an even more compassionate and caring individual to those he became close with. Ganner valued the years he had spent getting to know Uthar and hoped that all his new responsibilities would not keep them from getting together for drinks in the near future.

Calgor was making some closing remarks and Ganner heard his name mentioned. It was time for him to finally get up and address the crowd. He didn't normally write his speeches, but almost wished he had this time. This was a special occasion and he didn't want to ramble. The bartender slid his next fresh drink next to him and he left a tip on the bar. "Thank you sir, you have made this gathering a pleasure to attend". Ganner said as he winked. He gulped the last of his current drink and grabbed the new one as he pushed off of the bar to the stage. Scanning the crowd as he walked and smiled at those in attendance, Ganner made his way to the podium. He swirled his drink and took a quick sip before placing it down on the podium. Looking up at the crowd, he smiled wide.

"I would like first and foremost like to thank Paladin Grim for leading the ceremonies here today. This is a great time for Krath and he has done us proud. With all of our schedules being what they are day to day, this was an outstanding job he did to arrange for us all to be here. I would also like to thank everyone in attendance for clearing their busy schedules and making it of such import to attend, especially Master Onasha and her contingent. We are deeply honored you could attend." He nodded slowly in her direction before turning back to the middle of the room. "Now there are a few things id like to address, but I promise to be brief so we can all get to the food and our beverages of choice. Firstly, thank you to Cal for finding the purpose of this planet, and the great job getting the planning and construction of not only this station and event, but the great cities being formed planet side as well. It seems this will be a great place for followers of Krath and out allies alike to come and find a peaceful coexistence here. A truly remarkable feat. Also to Lord En Sabah Nur who has been leading the Order of Krath to renewed heights of greatness, and congratulations to Chaplain Daz Raal on his promotion. Great work, both of you. Id also like to say a quick thank you to our Grand Seneschal. Frezt my friend, these last few years working more closely with you has not only renewed my respect for what you have done in building this Dynasty, but has taught me so much with running the day to day operations of such a fantastic group of people. I never thought I was a government type, but you showed faith in me, and have pushed e to be a better persona dn leader. I thank you for that." Ganner smiled, nodded and tipped his drink towards Frezt before taking another sip, and placing the glass back on the podium. "And if that wasn't sappy enough for you, id like to address just one more position before I finish up here. Fleet Marshal. We have a momentous changing of the guard here, and a very unique situation indeed. Two people, One journey ending, but two beginning. First up id like to address my long time friend Uthar. Now this Barabel may look tough on the outside, but hes even tougher on the inside. The physical and mental toughness he has shown throughout his years of service are things people will tell their grandchildren about. Im not going to sit here and read his resume, as you would all likely throw me out the airlock before I could finish. What I do want to cover though is that even though this is a sad day in the retirement of a respected leader, it is a exciting one to see my friend, after all he has been through, embark on a brand new journey that will likely take him places he never imagined possible. There is noone who has more to brag about, yet remains so humble than this Barabel. His years of service do not even begin to tell what will be the legend of Uthar Ridian. May greatness follow a great leader, and someone I am honored to call friend. I raise my glass once more to you Uthar, may your new journey bring you peace and understanding, of what you are meant to be, and thank you from Krath, and myself for all you have done. To Uthar!" Ganner raised his glass high in toast to his friend. "Now that leaves just one more person. That tall Ithorian over there is one of the most unassuming sentients I have ever met. But dont let that calm facade fool you. Fred Berry has a tactical mind to rival great generals, and wisdom beyond his years. His promotion to Fleet Marshal, though maybe earlier than he may have expected, is well deserved and I am confident he will lead out forces to much success and glory. I remember that shy Ithorian that was looking to begin his service to Krath as a diplomat. After being convinced to help do some work for the marines for a little while, he quickly became adept at leading people and coming up with unexpected strategies and showed real promise in a military role. It is no surprise that he is the first Marine to become Fleet Marshal because of his work ethic, dedication, and brilliant mind. Now it is widely know that many Ithorians are extremely pacifistic. It come for their compassion for living things, and the love of balance in all things. I think it is that very thing that actually makes Fred as effective as he is. His dedication to the preservation of the lives of those he serves with and the drive to keep the balance that Krath shows us, make him who he is, and has led him to this point. So here we are. We have caught up with the reminiscing. We are here in present time. Fleet Marshal Fred Berry. May you find all that you search for here under the guidance of Krath, and long may you lead our forces to victory in defending what it is we believe. Everyone, join me in wishing Fred Berry, Fleet Marshal of Krath the best of luck in his new position, and that we all learn as much from him, as he does from us!" Ganner then held his drink high and raised his voice a bit. "To the Fleet Marshal!" With that he took a step back from the podium, and turned to Cal with a smile and tipped his drink to him as well. He finished the last bit of his drink in a gulp once more and headed off stage. He made one last look over to Uthar with a grin and a wink, and then made his way back over to the bar, where he noticed the bartender already had a fresh drink waiting for him. This guys is good...maybe I should have included him in my speech. He thought to himself as he pulled out another chip to tip the bartender.

Grim was a little taken aback. Partly about being mentioned and partly due to what looked like the intoxicated nature of the First Lord. He raised an eyebrow and smiled as Ganner strode from the stage.

"An...interesting speech there thank you sir. I would however like to ask you not drain the bar quite yet? However I believe this concludes proceedings quite nicely. I would like to say thank you to all of you who have attended, Grand Seneschal Raleigh, Lord Groundrunner, Retired Marshal Ridian, Chaplain Kell. I would like to congratulate new Fleet Marshal Berry and Chaplain Raal on their well deserved promotions. I say thank you to the Jedi delegation that took a lot of time from their busy schedule to be here for this event, travelling nearly six days to be here just for our little event. I say thank you to my Co-Host, Lord Preceptor En Sabah Nur for writing a wonderful speech and acting as an excellent partner for this event and finally I'd like to thank you all. I address the audience...whoever is left of you and not gone to sleep after the speeches. You are what makes Krath great, you are the people that do the work for our deity and work and serve in their name. You are the people who make things happen and you are the people who deserve our recognition and I would like to offer a praise to all of you. I would like to wish you all a prosperous year ahead and that this will be another glorious year for Krath and the galaxy!"

"Ladies and Gentlemen, refreshments are available outside, you are free to leave and enjoy your time here. If you wish to stay we can arrange accommodation for a while. Thank you for being here and Krath watch over you all."

An applause spread through some of the rows as Grim took a bow to the Councils and went to shake the hand of En

"I think that went rather well for a first time, don't you?"

En followed Paladin Grim's lead and firmly shook the Devaronian's hand. "Yes, I don't think it could have gone any smoother." Unclasping his hand from Grim's, En half smiled at him. How about we go and join the attendees for some celebratory drinks?

"How about we go and join the attendees for some celebratory drinks?"

Grim didn't need asking twice. "Best thing I've heard all day. To the bar!"

The crowd began to disperse, a few people milling around outside. Security and staff were escorting people out. As the last few people left, the torches still burning, Grim turned to the lit hall. With a smile, checking it had been emptied, he waved a hand as the torches extinguished, the large wooden doors closing shut as the ceremony was finally over.
