The Monastery of Nomak Drome (IC)

Post by Grevendar Togl »

Prologue

Looking up for his datapad wearily, Grevendar scoured the reports from Exocron. The news was not good and simultaneously excellent. The survey team had proved that this had been the home of the reclusive Nomak Drome during the days before his disappearance from daily view and subsequent re-appearance months later, as a sacrifice to the Sith Emperor. From recent reports, the team had uncovered datapads, parchments and etchings that indicated their author as Nomak himself, but the elusive Book of Krath, the edition that had been closest to compilation, still evaded the team. Now the reports were indicating that the structure definitely had a range of trapdoors, secret passages and underground caverns, but that none could be entered.

Looking up from the report, Grev grimaced as it described the death of a junior officer on the team to what appeared to be a booby trap. He knew those caverns would be trapped, it didn't help that Nomak was known for experimental work in all fields and had apparently diligently applied all of his learning to making simple spikes and pits become traps that would kill a rancor.

Marking the survey team as being down to 3 men, he realised more help was needed, but what he needed were both scholars, thinkers and tactical analysts. Quickly he turned to him comm unit and composed a hasty message.
-Flashnews-

Following the recent Krath News announcement (viewtopic.php?f=105&t=5334), archaelogists are slowly exploring and investigating the now abandoned monastery of Nomak Drome on Exocron. As one of Kraths most veteran servants, cultural and military experts believe information of great value will be contained inside. However, recent expeditions into the underground vaults and storage level have resulted in some accidents and indeed some areas of the monastery appear inaccessible. The Insititute of Krath has transmitted a request for assistance to all off duty personnel, promising glory, adventure and good pay.

For those interested, please report to the Exocron Retreat (http://www.swcombine.com/rules/?Galaxy_ ... temID=1197)
Putting down the comm unit, he picked it up with reluctance again to pass along the message.

To: Beskar Indaraes, Initiate of the Path of Keto
From: Lord Commander Grev'endar'togl be Ar'Klim

-Message-

Beskar,

We're having a set of accidents and the team simply isn't aware of the rituals associated with the Order of Krath, I need you to get to the Exocron Retreat and bring as many devotees of the Order as you can manage. From there we can lead a team to the surface and get those manuscripts.

Best Regards,
Grev
Finally turning away from the comms unit, Grevendar grabbed his datapads on the Order of Krath, jumped into his RZ-1 A Wing Interceptor and began the powerup sequence. Looking out the docking bay of the KMS Swordbearer, he paused for a moment in pride as the Ori'Ramikade patrols and construction crews continued their buildup of Antar. In just months, this planet would rival Coruscant and be the centre of trade in the Inner Rim. Rising on repulsorlifts, the ship cleared the containment field and entered hyperspace towards the Kathol Sector.

(OOC: Each of you should RP your arrival at the Exocron Retreat, I will arrive last given the fact that I would have to cross the galaxy to do so.)

While traveling somewhere off in deep space, EO receives a transmission tempting her to an adventure.
She has dreamed of such since she was a child. EO looks around her cabin of her YT-1210 to get an account of her supplies.

" I believe I can make due. What kind of dangers could there possible be?"

She sends off the message,"on my way sir" and jumps to hyper.
Arriving at the Exocron Sector, she sees a space station.

"Just an LS1,.....I expected something bigger" ,she says with an undertone.
"Let's go inside and get briefed" was the only sound to be heard, as she exits her ship with her T3 utility droid.

Iorus Lion is sitting in front of the controls of his vessel, the IS33 Light. While he sets path on hyperspace to the Exocron system, is assaulted by thoughts about Nomak Drome
and his own upcoming destiny.

Nomak was a great individual. I remember when he spoked to us with his soft, yet powerful voice. Truth is, when the news of his death came to my ears, I wasn't able to accept it at first. We weren't the closest ones, but I do remember kindly when he spoke about his archeological findings, and his sense of humour. Today is the day where we will be able to acknowledge his legacy, if we return alive from our journey. May Krath be with him in death as he was in life.

Days later, the ship arrives to the system. Lion sees two ships yet around the Exocron retreat and inmediately knows this will be a good adventure.

Beskar was already in route, his Skipray Blastboat docked in the belly of the beast where he sat captain, a massive but speedy MC-60, donated to the Krath by the Mon Calimari. The human would pace the command deck, back and fourth, back and fourth, eyes facing the viewing port as the stars streamed by in hyperspace. The officers and enlisted onboard seemed to be operating as usual, completely unaware of the mission set before them save for the briefest of details. The Order did not answer to anyone, and this was the evidence of it. Krath ruled here, and the Order is his mouthpiece.

"Ensign Jian. Send a reply message to Lord Commander Togl letting him know we are en route...and have all crew whom are available prep the extra guest quarters. Apparently we'll be having visitors"

Sitting in a temporary quarter that was often rented by Exocron visitors, Varro faced towards a viewport with a table in front of him. On the table rested a vast arrangement of weapons from blades to long range blaster rifles, each organized by type and placed meticulously around the table’s top. After setting down one ELG, nudging it gently into place, Varro picked up the second ELG that was already lying on the table. Slowly, he took apart the blaster pistol, cleaning the weapon and ensuring parts were satisfactory for use. As metal tolled against medal, unhinging, sliding, and releasing from place, a small patrol droid rested on a side table off near a corner of the room in standby mode. Through the visor of his helmet, Varro took in every detail that was shown in a holographic view that was crystal clear. Every wedge, every bolt, every insignificant defection; they were all seen. Breathing steadily, with air being filtered a moderate amount through a seemingly quiet unit, Varro set aside a worn ring that was pressed against the barrel, and replaced it with a readily available one. Sliding the barrel back into its shroud with an increasing pitch, Varro set the piece onto the table as we inspected the other parts.

In the viewport above him showed ships slowly approaching the luxury space colony. One was already making maneuvers to land in a docking bay, but Varro paid no heed to the ships. His datapad that sat on the far right end of the table lit briefly, indicating an update to the operation he was on. Varro diverted his eyes and paused but for half a second before returning to a used power cell. After a short time, he reassembled the ELG and placed it carefully next to its counterpart. Varro gently reached for the datapad, tapping on the screen to bring it back to life. Only turning his head slightly to view the notes, he tapped the datapad with a bit more force than intended, sending the datapad back into its slumber. Bringing his hand over a small bar of cortosis, Varro simultaneously picked the bar up with a vibroblade next to it. Moving the bar to his other hand, Varro took the vibroblade by its newly attached grip and sent it on a course down a side of the cortosis. While his movements with the blaster pistols were delicate before, Varro’s movements with the blade were more forceful. There Varro sat for some time more, knowing it would not be long before the operation would begin. With that in mind, he allowed his thoughts to drift away with the sounds of cortosis scraping away at the blade reverberating off the walls of the otherwise silent room.

As EO walks out of the docking bay of the station, she notices it's not all dark and Baron.

"Nice to see such care in a retreat, looks bigger on the inside."

EO checks the charge on her wristcaster as she remembers back........
Once she was invited to a research center to be checked by a 'jedi' if she had been force sensitive.
The center Was quite beautiful, but the feeling was off. That situation didn't turn out so well. :x

"Jekyl, this remind you of that place?........You picking up anything?"
(Her T3 Utility Droid Jekyl has no noise emitter, but his eyes change colors in patterns his Master understands)

She knew her luck couldn't be that bad; from the communication on previous occasions, and the fact that she was no stranger
to the Krath, nor some of its members. She had always relied on her instincts, and at this time, she was fine. But she has Never been NOT greeted, if especially to check weapons or credentials.

"Let's go down this hall and make a little noise as to not spook anyone. We are bound to find someone in the great hall."
She expelled as she tapped Jekyl on his oculars.......

"...Yes, construction must resume. We're crunched on time as is."

The holopad dims down before turning off, showing the reflection of a formidable face off its surface. The Zabrak, a giant even among his kind, places the holopad down on the pristine counter. He walks to the bridge's view port and stares outward to the surface of the planet Deko Nemoidia. He leans forward, resting on the railing about a meter away from the thick glass. Around him are ship technicians and military personnel all typing away into various holo-screens. He furrows his brow and focuses on the hum of the Modular Taskforce Cruiser. His polished battle armor reflects the image of the planet, but distorted around the plating intersections.

Cuyan snaps back into reality and makes his way back over to the command chair. Along the way, he grabs a different holopad from the same counter and boots it up. As he sits down, a warm glow emits from the holopad's surface and it then focuses in. Chief among his notifications is an article about the archaeology on Exocron. The message was forwarded from an unidentified source with an attached coordinate to a space station: Exocron Retreat. Cuyan reads over the article, noting the location. He looks back to the view port, and past to the surface of Deko Nemoidia. Shifting focus back to the holopad, he gives a nod, mostly assuring himself. He then rises from the chair and heads back to the counter, picking up the original holopad. He then looks over to his chief officer and summons him over.

"I'm going to be taking a leave of absence. Keep the construction running, and see to it that I come back to an intact fleet."

He hands the holopad regarding the construction to the officer before making his way off of the bridge. He heads down the corridor to the elevator before punching in the floor to the docking bay. Once arriving, he makes his way to his prepped YT-2000, Beviin be Choruk, and boards the ship. He enters the cockpit where he sees a familiar T3-series droid waiting for him. It beeps uncontrollably before he whacks it on the top of its "head". He punches in the sequence to begin undocking and looks to the droid.

"Looks like we're in for another adventure, pal."

-GM Post-

With the team assembling at the Colony, the docking controllers organised with each ship to dock and bring their passengers aboard into the briefing room. A well lit room decorted matte black, walls had mounted banners of the Order and the Krath Dynasty and the space was large enough to hold at least 20 people.

With a faint flash, Grevs A Wing emerged from hyperspace and headed towards the docking bay, currently occupied by 2 DX-9 transports. Debarking, Grev left his A Wing to the care of the technicians and headed towards the briefing room, his R3 unit AK1-R3 following him. There he awaited the adventurers for the briefing.
