Laws of The Krath

The Krath Laws are regulated by the Krath Tribunal.

Category 1: Criminal Acts

Conspiring or Soliciting to Commit Murder

All persons who shall conspire, confederate, and agree to murder any person, whether he be a member of the Krath or not, and whether he be within the Krath’s dominions or not, and whosoever shall solicit, encourage, persuade, or endeavor to persuade, or shall propose to any person, to murder any other person, and whether he be within the Krath dominions or not, shall be guilty of a misdemeanor, and being convicted thereof shall be liable, at the discretion of the Tribunal, to be punished by death, –or to be kept in penal servitude for any term not more than ten and not less than three years,–or to be imprisoned for any term not exceeding two years, with or without hard labor.

Manslaughter

Whosoever shall be convicted of manslaughter shall be liable, at the discretion of the Tribunal, to be punished by death, –or to be kept in penal servitude for life.

Murder or Manslaughter Abroad

Where any murder or manslaughter shall be committed within the Krath’s borders, every offence committed by any subject of the Krath in respect of any such case, whether the same shall amount to the offence of murder or of manslaughter, may be dealt with, inquired of, tried, determined, and punished by the Krath Tribunal.

Conspiring or Soliciting to Commit Insurrection

All persons who shall conspire, confederate, and agree to commit insurrection, whether he be a member of the Krath or not, and whether he be within the Krath’s dominions or not, and whosoever shall solicit, encourage, persuade, or endeavor to persuade, or shall propose to any person, to commit insurrection, and whether he be within the Krath dominions or not, shall be guilty of a high crime, and being convicted thereof shall be liable, at the discretion of the Tribunal.

Wounding With Intent of Grievous Bodily Harm or to Resist Apprehension

Whosoever shall unlawfully and maliciously by any means whatsoever wound or cause any grievous bodily harm to any person, with intent, to do some grievous bodily harm to any person, or with intent to resist or prevent the lawful apprehension or detainer of any person, shall be guilty of felony, and being convicted thereof shall be liable to be punished by death, –or to be kept in penal servitude for life.

Inflicting Bodily Injury With or Without a Weapon

Whosoever shall unlawfully and maliciously wound or inflict any grievous bodily harm upon any other person, either with or without any weapon or instrument, shall be guilty of a misdemeanor, and, being convicted thereof shall be liable to be punished by death, –or to be kept in penal servitude for as long as the Krath Tribunal deems fit based on the crime.

High Treason

“Compassed or imagined” (i.e. planned) the death of a leading government official; Levied war against the Krath, or adhered to the enemies of the Krath, giving them aid and comfort; Killing any high government official. To be punished by death, –or to be kept in penal servitude for life.

Criminal Damage

  • Section 1:
    A person who without lawful excuse destroys or damages any property belonging to another intending to destroy or damage any such property or being reckless as to whether any such property would be destroyed or damaged shall be guilty of an offence.
  • Section 2:
    A person who without lawful excuse destroys or damages any property, whether belonging to himself or another,

    • (a) Intending to destroy or damage any property or being reckless as to whether any property would be destroyed or damaged; and
    • (b) Intending by the destruction or damage to endanger the life of another or being reckless as to whether the life of another would be thereby endangered; shall be guilty of an offence.

Fraud

Any act, expression, omission, or concealment calculated to deceive another to his or her disadvantage; specifically: a misrepresentation or concealment with reference to some fact material to a transaction that is made with knowledge of its falsity or in reckless disregard of its truth or falsity and with the intent to deceive another and that is reasonably relied on by the other who is injured thereby.

Larceny

The unlawful taking and carrying away of personal property with the intent to deprive the rightful owner of it permanently; also any of several types of theft (as embezzlement or obtaining another’s property by false pretenses) that have been traditionally distinguished from larceny.

Impersonation of an Official

It is illegal to impersonate, act or pretend to be an official of another person in order to achieve a deceitful goal.

Space Station Construction

It is illegal for any person or party who does not have the approval of the Krath Imperial Council to construct or own any stations within any part of Krath space, to include deep space in Krath controlled sectors. Penalty for this offense includes the destruction of the offending property and a permanent exile from Krath sovereign territory to be determined by the Krath Tribunal.

Solicitation

  • Section 1:
    Any individual who solicits or advises another or others to commit a Summary Offence under this chapter shall, if the offence solicited or advised is attempted or committed, be punished as a court may direct.
  • Section 2:
    Any individual who solicits or advises another or others to commit an Indictable Offence under this chapter shall, if the offence solicited or advised is committed, be punished with the punishment provided for the commission of the offence, but, if the offence solicited or advised is not committed, he shall be punished as a court may direct.

Sale/Unlawful Possession of Restricted Technology

It is illegal to sell any of Krath’s restricted technology to any party other than Krath itself. Unlawful possession of this same technology is punishable under this law, circumstances considered. Violation of Krath’s technology laws carries the punishment of imprisonment or penal servitude as decided by the Tribunal.

Personal Trespassing

It is illegal for any Krath citizen or non-citizen to trespass upon the privacy of any sentient being without the explicit consent of the sentient in question or any lawful reason within Krath territory. This includes unlawfully entering private facilities, ships, vehicles, or stations and also includes trespassing upon their mind using any ability of the Force. Punishment for this crime is to be determined by the Krath Tribunal but not to exceed 4 months imprisonment.

Planetary Trespassing

It is illegal for any person who is not a Krath citizen to enter the atmosphere or otherwise descend or land on any planet that is the sovereign territory of Krath without specific permission from the Lord Imperator or Emperor of Krath. Any person found in violation, whether they be of an allied nation or not, shall be immediately accused and charged with Espionage and Conspiring or Soliciting to Commit Insurrection. The penalty for violating this law is life imprisonment, life of penal servitude or death to be determined by the Tribunal.

Espionage

It is illegal for any party to knowingly, or unknowingly, give classified information to third parties of Krath, regardless of diplomatic status to the Krath Empire. Those who are found guilty of Espionage against the Krath Empire will face a minimum penalty of life imprisonment. Punishment will be determined by the Tribunal once found guilty.

Hyperlane Creation

It is illegal for any party that does not have the explicit approval of the Emperor of Krath to create or otherwise partake in the creation of a hyperlane that has an end or beginning point anywhere within Krath sovereign territory, to include deep space within Krath controlled sectors. Violation of this law will be penalized by imprisonment (up to life sentence), penal servitude (up to life sentence) or execution.

Category 2: Civil Acts

Affiliates

Affiliated groups will be treated as an entity within the Krath. All affiliate members will be granted full citizenship by passing a Krath test, and will have the rights of any other citizen. If an affiliate business, and or an affiliate member commit a crime, they will be subject to punishment, as would any other person.

Sentients and Citizenship

All members of the Krath  government and nationalized groups will be granted full citizenship. This citizenship can be revoked at the digression of the Krath Tribunal, and all rights pertaining to the status as well.

Commerce and Trade

Commerce and trade within the Krath is not limited to its members, however it is highly discouraged to trade with enemy factions. The Krath itself on the other hand may not sell the following items, for government purposes except if approved by the Emperor: Power Generators, Barracks, Shield Generators, Training Academies, Factories, Naval Yards, Dry-docks, Computer Centers, Temples, Churches, Cathedrals, Landing Pads, Star ports, Civic Centers, Government Houses, Palaces, High-rises, Skyscrapers, and All defense equipment.

Construction

Private construction in Krath space is forbidden, unless a building permit is obtained. This includes stations, facilities, and cities and also includes within deep space of Krath sectors.
Building permits are handed out by the Ruling Council, and are usually only given out to nationalized or affiliated groups.

Restricted Tech Notice effective Year 19, day 350:

Any and all DCs/items/ships/etc granted to any person/faction as part of our restricted tech tier system are subject to the following regulations:

– Restricted tech that is granted to any faction/organization is not to be sold, shared, bartered with, gifted, or given to any other party (faction or private person), regardless of their assigned tier in Krath’s restricted tech policies.

– Restricted tech granted to any faction is not to be distributed to said faction’s member base under any circumstances what-so-ever.

– The Krath Empire reserves the right to send an envoy to any faction in possession of our restricted tech to inspect the inventory of restricted ships and log any IDs of said restricted tech. This is not retro-active and does not apply to factions granted access to our restricted tech before the effective date, so long as restricted tech was not accessible to them after said date.

– The Krath Empire, if any tech violations are discovered, reserves the right to demand that all restricted tech be returned to The Krath. This is not retro-active and does not apply to factions granted access to our restricted tech before the effective date, so long as restricted tech was not accessible to them after said date.
