Choosing to avoid the Gizka, Saheen runs through the pack at top speed. Looking at him with wide eyes, the gizka hopped once or twice before stopping and feeding on the grass one again. Slowing to a walk once again, Saheen saw rustling in the grass ahead. This time he wasn't going to escape so easily, a lone Howlrunner emerged, looking for its next meal. Its head swung from side to side, sniffing the air to track down the new smell, finally focussing on the direction leading to Saheen.

Saheen had just gotten away from the Gizka, saw the Howlrunner and was surprised. Saheen aimed his DLT-20A at the creature's head. Saheen pulled the trigger and the blast went flying. The blast was only for distraction and the moment the blast left Saheen ran past and went to hide behind a rock. Saheen really hoped the creature wouldn't find him but if it did, he would be ready to dual wield his two blaster pistols to fight the beast.

The blast, aimed in haste flew past the head of the howlrunner. Sensing danger, the predator chose to fight and bounded towards the rock....

Saheen stepped out from behind the rock and fired his relbys at the creature, each one right after the other. Saheen hoped he could take down the beast before it got to him.

The howlrunner pounded the ground, approaching its prey at top speed. Saheens blasts caught it directly in the chest, stopping the charge temporarily but failing to kill the creature. Howling in anger, the howlrunner closed the remaining gap and swung a claw at the barabel, cutting the flesh of the shoulder but failing to pierce many of the scales.
Howlrunner down to 260HP, Saheen at 95% health.

Saheen yells in pain but kept on fighting, he leaped backwards and fired six shots in rapid succession at the creature then ran to get some distance away from the howlrunner and turned back to see if any damage occurred.

The pistols impact once or twice, hitting the creature in the belly and burning away chunks of flesh. Saheen tries to run but even injured, the beast outruns him jumps on him again, this time causing him to lose some scales and take gashes to his right arm and leg.
Howlrunner down to 180HP, Saheen down to 85% health.

Saheen uses his strength to push the beast off, then pulls out the DLT-20A from his back and fires two shots under the creatures chin with the muzzle pressed deep.Saheen really wanted the fight to be over so he awaited to give a good hit to stop the creature. Putting his DLT-20A away he pulled back out the relbys and braced himself for another hit.

At such a short range, the laser blast was still unfocussed as it hit the jaw, burning away the skin but far from killing the creature. Swiping blindly in pain, the howlrunner raked his claws across Saheens leg. Blood beginning to seep from cuts, Saheen had to act fast to kill the beast and get to the city for treatment.
Howlrunner down to 160HP, Saheen at 75% health.

Saheen backed up with a limp and shot eight consecutive shots from the relbys ant the creature. Saheen now was about to fall over from pain so for good measure fired another five shots at the creature. Saheen turned and started to limp himself some distance from the animal.
