Bright purple rays of light carve into the clouded evening sky. Beacons of one of Krath's newly opened casinos in the flourishing business district of Shesharile VI. You hand over your speeder's ignition chip and a couple of credits to the neatly dressed valet boy, as you step towards the murmur of live music and chatter coming through the large glass doors. With a gentle pneumatic puff, the doors slide open and the rush of excitement triggers virtually all your synapses. The smell of various delicious cuisines from around the Galaxy wafts by, causing your mouth to water a little bit. Waiters, managers, exotic dancers and other personnel from a wide range of species tend to the mass of sentients, who have gathered in this luxurious establishment to relish in lust, wealth and entertainment. You came here exactly for those reasons as well. As you make your way to the roulette table, a waiter offers you free refreshments.
The table is operated by a droid, which is unconventional, as most casinos now have fully-automated roulette tables. When a Toydarian gambler places his bet, you observe the droid extracting the chips, and a blue chip-shaped hologram appears on the table's layout. Above the chip rendering, the player's name and bet amount are projected.
You position yourself at the table, letting the droid know you want to play. You're in for a night of excitement, hoping to head back home a little richer than you are now.

Fred enters the establishment, intrigued by the groups of sentients buzzing around. He doesnt get much time to himself, and every now and then wants to enjoy the latest hangouts. He recently found a promotional voucher noting the new Roulette Table and decided to set a course. Fred looks around for the chip counter, and decides to head to the closet counter, where he finds a few others exchanging credits for chips.
Fred hands his voucher to the Sentient running the counter, and takes his chips. Fred takes his seat in the outer circle of the Roulette table where he can gauge a good view of the holographic table. He then motions for a waiter and orders a drink, and proceeds to flip through his holopad for any updates on his current operation.

"Greetings, General Berry," the table's croupier droid said as it turned its head towards the slowly approaching Ithorian.
A blue holographic rendering of a casino chip appeared at the outer edge of the table, right next to Fred. Projected on its surface was Fred's passport ID picture, and above it his full name and chip balance in small holographic print.
"Welcome to the table, sir," the droid said to the General, "Would you like to play against the house alone, or would you prefer to wait for other players while you enjoy that drink?"
A Kuati waiter arrived with Fred's order, and a bowl of nuts and small savory snacks. In front of Fred, the table's betting interface came to life.
Player balance:
Fred Berry's chip balance is now 243 chips.

Fred thanks the Waiter, and then addresses the droid, "I will place my bets, but would be willing to wait for other players."
Fred proceeds to place his his bets in the designated areas, and hopes for the best.

"Very well, general Berry. Let's play!" the droid said as he tossed a small while ball in the opposite direction the roulette wheel was spinning. Slowly the ball descended into the disc until it plunged into a green pocket labeled 0.

A holographic word HOLD projected above the table, slowly rotating for all to see. The croupier droid extracted 93 chips from Fred's balance, then the HOLD marker disappeared.
"I'm sorry, General. Zero is a special number, that can only be bet on in Straight, Trio and Basket bets. I'm afraid none of your bets included Zero..."
Player balance:
Fred Berry's chip balance dropped to 150 chips.

Fred was intrigued by the zero. Although he was disappointed in his loss of about a hundred chips, he was not ready to stop.
"this round was low, and I bet high, lets change it a little, and meet in the middle." He said.
Fred places his new bets on the interface, and orders another drink from the waiter. This time he was more focused on the table, placing his holopad off to the side. The holographics were too intoxicating, to not stare at.

As the ball skated across the smooth varnished surface of the roulette platter, several spectators gathered around the table. Then the ball decisively landed in one of the wheel's pockets.
"Nine Krath," the croupier announced. The HOLD holomarker reappeared above the table's blue illuminated layout, indicating that the droid was about the exchange chips.
"Sorry, General. It seems luck hasn't been on your side yet. However, you have only just begun!"
The holomarker disappeared, indicating a new round of roulette.
Player balance:
Fred Berry's chip balance is now 100 chips.

Fred was not as bummed as the prior round because he lost fewer chips, having bet low numbers. Fred was bit more careless this round, hopefully it wont be his last.
"Dear Croupier, you are not matching my calculated odds, please payout this next round." Fred said jokingly, although his ithorian nature may make it seem a bit more serious than it was meant to be.
Fred was getting a bit hungry, decided to add a salad with his next drink. He motioned the waiter back over, and expressed his desire for free food since he has bad luck, but figured the waiter would either, joke along with him, or be extremely blunt about the request.
"Hello, Sir, would it be okay to add a salad to my drink order, a bit hungry. Also since I have this stretch of bad luck, could that salad be on the house?"
After the waiter left, he placed his new bets, seeing that round two had skipped a double street, he had higher hopes that his continued double street bet would finally win, he placed it again, with a higher bet. But he did play it safe and try betting on the lower dozen. He also kept his corner bet, hoping for a double payout.

The waiter had a surprised look on his face. "But sir, all beverages and refreshments are complementary in our casino. Will that be all?"
The croupier threw a thousand-yard stare at Fred, when suddenly its social module flagged the Ithorian's directive as a joke.
As the white ball solidly landed in a purple slot labeled 6, the croupier shaped its facial servos to something that could pass as a smile. "I am [glad] to announce that you did not lose in this round, but [unfortunately] you did not make any profits either."
The HOLD marker appeared above the table, and Fred's Corner and Double Street bets were extracted from his balance. Then, his First Dozen bet paid out 2 to 1, giving Fred a total payout of 75 chips.
Fred receives 15 complementary chips for roleplaying.
Player balance:
Fred Berry's chip balance is now 115 chips.

Fred acknowledges the waiter's response, "Complementary, I guess I will make that an extra large salad then." Fred had taken the last sip of his drink just as he finished the sentance, "and another drink if you will." Fred stated as the waiter began walking away.
Just as the ball landed on six, Fred had noticed the droids attempt at humor, but was more entertained by the ending of the response indicating he didn't make a profit. Although fred was happy to be able to keep playing because of the payout he reviewed the past results. His ithorian nature continues to try to make sense of the odds. Eventually he decides to place his bets.
Fred whispered to himself, "the board wants to stay low, so another dozen bet, I like the double street, but we will change it, and lastly I have this feeling for the second column." Fred was satisfied by his decision, even if the ball goes high because it was low so much, he has it covered a bit by the double street, and even more so with the whole second column.
